Meet Gitit Kaufman
Licensed Professional Counselor
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a deep passion to work with people in order to increase their self-awareness toward themselves, while focusing on their emotional, mental, and physical aspects. I have obtained my master’s degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University in 2013. I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work that I practiced since 2001, and from 2014, I reside in Colorado where I practice as an LPC. I have a wide experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, including veterans, people struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, and grief. I believe that therapy needs to be targeted while addressing a pressing matter. Every person deserves to have the best opportunity to improve his or her life and get the best support they need. My goal is to help people improve their social as well as their emotional issues to help them reach mental peace.

Sessions are available in person as well as via Telehealth (Google Meet).

Why Counseling?
It can really help
In this day and age, many of us experience anxiety or sadness. However, we are actually processing the loss of many of our daily routines that we took for granted. In addition, some of us may experience an added fear for our current social dynamics. Social interaction is part of who we are; therefore, we need to find the balance within our mental health and the need as human beings for social connection. Sometimes we even feel the need to help other people, but similar to when we are flying on an airplane, we first need to put our oxygen masks on ourselves before helping someone else.

This loss, similar to grief is a painful experience; it impacts us mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. We are not necessarily grieving when one of our loved ones have died, rather we are grieving when we lose someone or something that we really like, such as a relationship, workplace, when we have a medical challenge, or even a loss of a childhood dream. This situation may trigger past experiences or past trauma and may control our daily routine, our thought process, our beliefs, as well as our behavior. In our sessions, we will work together to better understand yourself, your choices, and your issues, while being able to make healthier choices for yourself and your loved ones. We will strive to help you feel safe and comfortable, to share your story and to raise awareness about yourself. This will help you move away from feeling stuck and will provide you a better lifestyle. Acceptance of who you are and changing things within you that you do not like, will also come out of the session, as a way to help you gain more control over your life in a kind and respectful way.
